Registration for State Employees

Only training coordinators may register state employees (employees of state agencies, universities, colleges, etc.) for classes, including the one- & two-day workshops and the 16-week Wake Tech. curriculum courses. Employees should complete a Registration Form and forward it to his or her department's training coordinator. The training coordinator relays the information and paperwork to our office at the State Personnel Development Center. We are not allowed to take registrations over the phone from state employees. If you are a state employee and wish to pay for your own course, follow the registration guidelines for the general public.

For a list of training coordinators for state agencies, universities, or licensing boards, visit http://www.osp.state.nc.us/rtablecomm/pspitc.htm.

Phone numbers are necessary for registration.

Graphic of a stop sign All phone numbers should be included on registration forms. Many winters and summers, classes become cancelled due to adverse weather, but we can not contact a number of class participants about the cancellations because their forms are not filled out completely.

A Note About The Social Security Field

In the past we could not register you for class unless you had your full Social Security Number filled out on your form. We are now able to accept the last 4 digits only. This satisfies the recordkeeping process and doesn't compromise your information. If you would rather have Wake Technical Community College issue you a standard Student ID number, please contact the registration office at 919-733-8338. However, if you choose to obtain a Student ID, you must use this full number when filling out the form for any Wake Tech. courses.

Payment Options

Payment is requested at the time of registration. With proper authorizations, state government departments may be invoiced. Call our office at (919) 733-8338 for more information about invoicing guidelines for your department, or check with your training coordinator.

Checks

If paying by check, make it payable to "The Office of State Personnel" in the amount indicated per course.

Invoices

Training coordinators: Please make sure your employees included proper authorizations, budget codes, and purchase order numbers on their registration forms. Departments/participants will be notified ONLY if there is a problem with the registration request. Please retain a copy of completed registration information.
